If you are
looking for a hobby that is challenging, rewarding and damn good fun.
Then you may wish to try your hand at re-enactment and join the Earl
of Loudoun’s Regiment of Foote.
You
are cordially invited (if you have the inclination to sample the delights
of seventeenth century life: from a period banquet to assaulting enemy
fortifications) to become a member and serve in the Earl of Loudoun's
Regiment of Foote.
The regiment is run on a committee basis with members elected by their
fellows, as are the officers of the regiment. Loudoun’s has its
own regimental newsletter, 'The Clarion', which will be issued to members
throughout the year, to which anyone may contribute. (Please do - new
articles are always required.) Additionally members will receive, as
members of the Roundhead Association, the Parliament Scoute, the RA
members journal 2/3 times per year. The regiment organises as well as
public events such things as social/private events like the annual banquet.
If you
wish to take the field then you must pay an appropriate fee in order
to comply with the insurance regulations. Each year you will have to
join both the ECWS (the Roundhead Association) and Loudoun’s,
and pay the annual fees (set at the respective AGM's). Membership is
annual running calendar year to calendar year.
